I am wondering whether Krss has anything in common with the murder..

"Ich werde sie sehen!" ruf' ich morgens aus, wenn ich mich ermuntere und mit aller Heiterkeit der schönen Sonne entgegenblicke; "ich werde sie sehen!" und da habe ich für den ganzen Tag keinen Wunsch weiter. Alles, alles verschlingt sich in dieser Aussicht. [Goethe]

Finally got around to reading this. Al, I must say your writing style is very rich indeed. There is a vast flow of emotion with every descriptive word - painting detailed images in the mind.

I'm looking forward to more installments.

Oooh, I just love Krissy. She's such a slutty thing.

I am wondering whether Krss has anything in common with the murder..

I have a feeling the only connection is that she's getting murdered. There is a serial killer who kills maids around.

I really enjoyed the dark atmosphere and the inner emotions of Almirena. And I have a soft spot for skimpy little women. Oh, and I love the way they all speak!

This is very interesting. I wonder why she dreamt of that.

Well, it could be... or it could not be... The delicious question is whether or not I kill Krss's character in a really gruesome way, or whether I don't. And if I don't, what else I have in mind for her.

I CAN assure you that Krss's character will not find a life of ease and normality.

Half-light, purblind streams where moonlight washes over trees / Lustred with a glow, as if from pearls upon the throat
Where the night's kiss lights upon her; rose's rhapsodies, / Warm as oils, imbue this bliss-fed hour with trembling note
"Where-? And who-?" Her breath's unspoken soul is light's perdue
That, hidden, seeks the unseen with a sigh… "Ah, L'inconnu!"

Jules, thank you for your kind and flattering words. I do like to paint pictures in the minds of the readers, so that's an incredibly complimentary post that makes me feel so pleased I could explode.

I thought you'd like her... *grin* She is up to her neck in things, that's for certain. But whether it's murder or something else, who can tell?

I adore writing things that have a great deal of darkness within in, so that I can play with the whole atmosphere of light and shade, brilliance and obscurity. I really wanted to set off the two aspects and let them mirror each other to some extent...

And I'm so glad you like this Almirena. I have trouble ahead for her, too.

You are being very mysterious. I like that.

You managed to make a very sharp contrast between the night with its fears and the cheerful homey inn.

I have trouble ahead for her, too.

Of course.. Poor thing.

A very good new installement.
Gijs van Gijsten is marvellous - I loved the passage about his towel menacing to slip down.

And Krss has clearly something to do with the case: my suspects were correct!

He might seem annoying, but there's more to him than meets the eye. I don't know how much more to say without giving away too much about what happens! So... I will leave you in suspense for now.

I'm glad you like him - I adored writing his appearance, and I'm going to have a lot of fun with his future doings.

A grey thistle morning - well, if you remember how branching and filigree-ish thistle is, and imagine an early morning with that sort of entwining cloud look in the sky (as if the sky were covered with grey thistles), that's the sort of look I tried to convey.

Thank you - I had to stop myself from giggling as I wrote the towel bit. I wanted it to be momentarily more light-hearted (because the readers deserve a bit of a mental break before they are exposed to the rather grim doings that happen very soon).

Krss knows something - but is it to do with the murder? Or is to do with something else?

Only the next instalment can answer those questions... or the one after that, or the one after that... *drags it out for as long as possible*
