Sometimes we find we need to talk about things, but simultaneously need to be discreet. The tension resulting from that is interesting... Anyway, that's a preamble. This thread is dedicated to things that you need to talk about but want to include false names, changed details, etc., in order to protect the guilty - or the innocent.

I know this one guy named Mearic, and he made a bad joke in a thread. Yup.

That's terrible! Give me his address, and I'll toss him into a cellar with a maddened goat... More seriously, I think I've reached my "stay calm, don't scream" limit this week, owing to a problem that is website-reseller-related. No names, no details. But I had about three hours' sleep in total this week because of the problems, the worry, the confusion (WHAT is going ON?) and the thought of changing over when there's a database and osCommerce stuff that needs to move too...

I am driven crazy by someone in real life whom I won't name and who wants to control not only my life, but also the way I think. And who is way too irresponsible to control anyone.

Sometimes it helps to vent... and especially when one isn't naming names. There's a freedom in that.

This is a quite interesting thread you came up with, Almirena. I cannot stand any more a particular person very close to me. Anything this person does and says appears annoying to me, but I cannot express it nor can I avoid the person. I'm trying to let it be and every time I am overwhelmed with irritation I try to convince myself that it is not wise to lose y balance because of things of such little importance.

Sounds like a tough one. I don't think it's doing you or the other person any good if you just bear their presence.. Soon you'll be likely fed up with them.

I am disturbed by a particular situation that has me concerned about the end result. The way to get to this end result is to put in the work, and I'm just not sure that whoever else is involved is as focused. It's a difficult situation... and I'm not sure about what I can do to solve the problem. Perhaps the Christmas break will see a solution in terms of more time. *sigh* On another topic, I am wondering whether to seek a publisher for a non-fiction work I'm writing. I hate the agony of waiting. It's like a constant stomach-ache. Yet this work has cost me so much research and effort... I just do not know. There. I'm confused... The original intention was just to write an article about the Rennes-le-Château mythology for the GK4Campaign site, but it's grown to be so large... - Confused Almirena

I think you should at least try to publish that work if you put so much research into it.

Ooo I like this thread. There's a certain someone who used a measuring cup for FOOD to measure a half cup of powdered Ant Killer - a poisonous chemical which specifically says on the package to keep away from animals and children. That certain someone thought it would be OK to just wash it off and use it for food again. So I bought myself a nice shiny set of measuring cups. Is it only guys that think like this or am I just too much of a clean freak? Sorry but poisonous chemicals used to KILL things should be kept faaaarrrrr away from human consuption in my book.

Of course you're right. Using food stuff for poisonous chemicals is very dangerous. Good thing you bought another set.

Holy... aconite... I would NEVER want to eat from a plate or cup that had been so intimate with poison! ______________ The day before yesterday, five drivers in the inside lane (five drivers who shall remain nameless - mostly because I don't know their names!) just rudely shoved in front to get into the outside lane because the inner lane was full of parked cars. These drivers could see that. They knew that if they kept driving in the inner lane, they'd have to indicate and try to move over into the outer lane. Or did they? NONE of them indicated. None of them slowed down. They didn't ASK if they could go into the outer lane; they just drove in as if of right. I, not wanting accidents, had to stop each time to let them in, and there was no thank you, but rather angry tooting as if to say, "Well, OF COURSE I can go here, and it's got nothing to do with you!" I think the end of November and beginning of December marks some of the very rude driving behaviour that makes it unpleasant. When the third person of the five did his little stunt, I let out a "grrrr" between my teeth, flung my hands in the air, and laughed, half in disbelief and half in "laissez-faire".

It's sad that no one seems to. There's no excuse not to use them. Even if the lights are broken there are arm signals you can give. '--' is for left, 'L' is for right. (Picture the figures in the 's as arms out the window.)

If this can console you, in Italy all the rules of road circulation seem to be mere suggestions.

Oh yes we know that so well. It's crazy!! One Romanian guy told us that he stopped at a red light in Naples and the drivers behind him honked angrily!!

Apparently in Greece the same is true, and in India you might actually be unable to move at all if you don't break the "road rules"! However, it doesn't console me. *sigh* And yet if I were to be upset by it, I'd only add to the miasma of offence and aggravation on the road, so I am smiling ruefully and letting it go.
