This is the would you rather thread. It's for answering questions that start with that and offer a choice between two equally bad or good things.

I'll start.

Would you rather be very hot or be very cold?

Very hot.

I cannot stand the cold at all, especially when it is humid too. Hot environments give me headaches and tend to make me collapse because of very low blood pressure, but I definitely prefer them to cold ones.

Right now there are 15°C in my room. (around 50°F I believe). Where are the times when the thermometre hit 40 - 100°F!

*completely agrees!!* I hate the cold. I can take heat pretty well.

Dallas is a great place for lovers of heat. Right now there are 22C.. at the end of October! Last year in December there were over 30C. In summer it can get as high as 43C, and it's almost always over 38C.

I'm so sorry it's so cold in your room. :hmm: That's cold for inside even by Romanian standards.

I live on the last floor of my house - under the roof. And the insulation is 17 years old...

I like heat better. Which is a good thing since I live so close to the Equator.

I prefer the cold only because it's easier for me to deal with the cold, by wrapping up warmly, having the heater on full blast, and having hot coffee on standby. If really cold, I can have a hot shower, and wander around in a feather blanket. But I can't deal with the hot weather very well. I can turn on the air conditioner, but there's a limit to how many clothes I can discard. It's especially difficult if I STILL feel hot when down to one layer. My head pounds, I feel lethargic, it's all too much. My balance is affected too... So cold, only because it's easier to counteract.

Would you rather be fed chocolate-covered strawberries by your beloved, or feed him/her chocolate-covered strawberries?

That, hidden, seeks the unseen with a sigh… "Ah, L'inconnu!"

That's an easy one, my beloved doesn't really like chocolate-covered strawberries. XD So of course I'd end up being the one who's fed.

I'd rather be fed too.

Although the top would be sharing.

Would you rather shoot yourself or shoot someone you love?

Myself. Shooting someone I loved would be impossible unless it were a flesh wound to save their life if, for instance, a poisonous spider were perched on their arm.

It's a good question - I'll leave it open for the next person to answer, as well!

Myself, as well. It was a very easy choice. I could never harm someone I love, and I don't have problems harming myself.

But harming yourself would harm the person you love. =P

But that said, I'd shoot myself too.

Would you rather write a children's story about a penguin or about a sock?

Ooh, that's a very hard choice.

About penguins. Gay penguins.

Not about parsonical socks? Struggling with being a heel? Having to toe the line? Feeling that they can't pull the wool over anyone's eyes?

*starts mentally creating Hector the Sock, whose first story will be a charming one in which poor Hector is picked up by the wrong owner and ends up in India instead of Hampshire.*

But if you write that about Hector the Sock all children will cry.

Hector the Sock looked around in surprise.

He was not in Mr Humble's house at all!

He thought, "That journey was very long. I think I could be in a whole other city." (He did not realise he had travelled over the ocean, all the way to India. that is a LOT further away than another city!)

Hector wriggled about, sniffing. Sniff, sniff. Yes, he could smell hot spices and strange aromas. He could smell curries and chili. He could smell coconut and all sorts of things that weren't usual. (Mr Humble usually ate chicken pie or boiled turbot. They were Mr Humble's favourite meals.)

"Where am I?" said Hector the Sock....

(After a lot of adventures...)

"I will be sending back this sock, Mrs Parabaya," said Mr Parabaya, looking nervously at his wife. "It is not my sock. My sock is green and red. This one is brown.

"Brown?!!" thought Hector the Sock, annoyed. "I'm maroon, not brown."

"Yes, that will be a very good idea, Mr Parabaya," said Mrs Parabaya, nodding her head. "You send it back with a good note, very polite and nice, and we will be getting back your sock in the next post. The owner of this brown sock will be happy to be getting it back."

(Hector continued to fume. He was not brown.)

.... .blah blah blah blah... More adventures...

"Oh, it's my sock!" cried Mr Humble joyfully. "I thought it was lost for good, and really, one cannot buy this make of sock anymore. The socks made today are all thin and wear out too quickly," he said sadly. "But this is my favourite sock, and I have it back all the way from India!"

Hector was very glad to get out of the express mail package, and to smell the delicious aroma of chicken pie, and to see Mr Humble's beaming face again.

"Ah," thought Hector contentendly. "I'm home again."

And I am happy to say that Hector the Sock, although he travelled a great deal, never again was separated by such a distance from kind Mr Humble.
