Hello all,

I have not posted for ages, I know. It can well be that many of you forumites won't even know me..

I'll take the chance and will try to give you a quick update about me, as I just did on the GK boards (I admit I cut and pasted the core text!), which I hope will also explain my absence.

The reason behind me not visiting the GK and Gray Matter boards any more is that I made a big life decision in the past months: I entered seminary, to become a Catholic priest.
It is not a choice I can explain rationally to non-believers - for the believers among you, I can add that it is not even a choice I made, but rather an answer to a vocation I had been hearing clearly in my heart for some years now, an encounter with a person (a Person, actually :P), which led to the decision to give all my life to this Person as an answer for all he gave me and keeps giving me.

Like all the big life decision, mine implies some choices, too: I decided to renounce a further career at the university, I quit music studies at the conservatory, quit acting and choir singing and renounced also to part of my personal freedom to seclude myself into seminary for the next six or seven years.
All my existence is now basically projected into this direction, with the obvious difficulties I experience day by day, but at the same time with a great sense of fulfillment. As for my online presence, you all know that the last years had been marked by the rise of Facebook and other social networks. With my choice causing me to cut a lot of relationships and friendships I had built in my "secular" existence, I decided to invest the little online time I have in upkeeping those relationships through Facebook, rather than spend it here on the boards. I still remember many of you fondly, and always will.

One thing I have to say is that I owe this to GK. I was raised as a Catholic, but lost faith during adolescence. And then, in my late teens back in 2002, I played GK3, fell in love with it, and got totally intrigued by its religious overtones and its amazing back story. I dug deep into all the esotheric stuff for some years, way before the Da Vinci Code surfaced, and ended up, after some time, with rejecting that kind of theses as rationally not believable. Which caused me to take back into consideration what I had previously rejected - Catholic faith; since then it has been seven or eight years of slow, sometimes painful, but definitely more mature rebuilding of my being Christian. And at some point, the vocational issue I am pursuing now emerged, too.ù

Incidentally, Nico Sels and Krss have known about my big life twist for some time now; I have tried my best to support the Gray Matter cause, and will definitely play the game at some point - most probably this summer. I will be happy to give a helping hend whenever I will be able to, as I occasionally did with the Cort-X site upkeeping, but my place really is elsewhere now.

A big embrace to you all, with love.

The secular world will surely miss you, Santi. I'm very glad that I "caught" you before. We made a few nice projects together, if you remember! And you make a great mod! You were active here during the time I was the most involved and enthusiastic about GM, and I have lots of good memories connected with you.

I hope your new life is fulfilling and that you'll check in from time to time. Will keep up with you on FB - I just need to learn Italian.

I can teach you

Anyway, Santi, you must know that I'm probably on the opposite side of the spectrum from you, being an atheist, but if this is the choice you feel right for yourself, than I'm happy for you. Very happy for you. And I wish you all the best.

You know what you BOTH should do? Post updates in English and Italian at the same time. That would help.

Aww Santi, I missed this post! Wow, I'm very surprised you've chosen this path after all your hard work and efforts into your architecture degree, singing and acting! We trust your thoughts and efforts and if this is what makes you feel complete and whole, then you will be supported no matter what your reasons.

It's amazing how GK influences our lives and I'm happy to know you've found your path. We're only sad to not have you around as much. I'll keep an eye out for you on Facebook. Not sure if you'll come back to check this post but I do hope they allow you to pop your head in from time to time. After all, we're part of your GK family and all.

It sounds like it has been a tough decision for you to choose this route and I hope it works out for you and that you find yourself more complete. I think we all need time to ourselves and reflect upon things sometimes.

Good luck, Santi. *hugs*
